Some screen and teaser shots will be up soon, as we continue to complete Release 1 features. Most of our current code development effort is around what we call the "structure" subsystem, which allows users to create buildings. Our R1 feature set includes buildings which are a superset of EA's "The Sims 2", up through the "Seasons" expansion pack. This means these simple structures will be tied to a floor grid, and allow full and half-height walls at 90 degree and 45 degree angles. We allow nearly any Sims2 custom content to be converted into a VScape object, and allow for a great deal more interactivity. Users will be able to easily visit their friends properties. On the art side of things, we are bringing up the release 1 avatars right now, and should be able to post some teaser shots real soon. We have a reference female avatar ready now, and are putting finishing touches on the male avatar. We have also begun work on facial expression and phoneme modeling, which will let us do some very powerful things in the near future. Details soon. We had hoped to have R1 out before the end of the year, and have frozen the feature list, but we are taking care to do excellent work instead of rushing the release out before its ready, so we're currently targeting the end of Q1. We know things will accelerate crazily when we go public, so we just want to make sure our foundations are as close to perfect as possible. We know this will pay off, and if our scalability research is any indication, we have done a good job...
